A scoring engine is not a decision system.
CreditLens is a mature credit-scoring and underwriting workflow tool from Moody's Analytics. Capital Refinery is the structured record of the credit decision across the life of the position — including covenant governance, breach probability, and what the team has to do when the borrower's quarter changes the picture.
What CreditLens does well, and where the line is.
What CreditLens is built for
Credit scoring, financial spreading, and origination workflow.
Spreading audited financials, running standardized credit scorecards, generating credit reports for committee, and managing the origination workflow. Backed by the Moody's risk methodology and built for institutional credit teams. For commercial and corporate lending workflows, the product is mature and the methodology is the institutional standard.
What it is not built for
Holding the credit decision as a structured testable record across the position.
CreditLens is built around the origination event. The output is a credit report and a score at the moment of approval. It does not bind the assumptions, conditions, and covenants to a structured record the platform can re-test continuously against borrower performance over the life of the credit. After origination, the active intelligence walks away.
Where Capital Refinery sits next to it
Underneath origination, governing the position over time.
Capital Refinery's credit stack includes a deterministic credit-agreement parser, a five-factor borrower scorecard, PIK and capital-structure tracking, and a covenant-and-breach-probability engine. The point is not to replace the scoring methodology — it is to keep the credit decision alive after the score has been written.

The research behind this.
Your team will keep CreditLens. The question is what governs the credit after the score is written.
Bring us a credit you originated last year. We will parse the credit agreement, build the structured record, and show you the layer that lives between the scorecard and the workout team.
